HMS DOMINICA (1807)
A French schooner captured by the Brits in 1807. She capsized during an August 1809 hurricane off the British Virgin Islands (HMS Dominica Wiki).
Italicized sections are quotes from Chapter 16. Regular text provides some context.
Pedro Salovi was a real figure who’d been identified as Cofresí’s second-in-command on the 10 Feb. 1825 Neptune (sailboat) attack. Salovi’s actions and affiliations outside of this are wholly ahistorical. Information, unless otherwise specified, can be found on the Roberto Cofresí Wikipedia page.
… [Salovi] was transferred to the power of Lieutenant Antonio Ordóñez in September 1820 to deal with highway robberies in Puerto Rico.
“[Puerto Rico's] regional harvest was destroyed by a … hurricane, triggering the region's largest crime wave to date. [The] Puerto Rican governor … ordered Lieutenant Antonio Ordóñez to round up as many criminals as possible.”
[Salovi] was declared a deserter [on 23 April 1821] … under different praetorship: then-Lieutenant and Praetor Adolphus FitzClarence, the bastard son of William IV by Lady Venus… under the pretense of Dorothea Jordan, William IV’s mistress.
FitzClarence was appointed lieutenant of the British Royal Navy on 23 April 1821 (A Naval Biographical Dictionary).
Jordan was an actress who had ten illegitimate children with FitzClarence’s father. Among them, Adolphus was her favourite, described by Jordan as her most handsome child (Royal Bastards: Illegitimate Children of the British Royal Family, 160).
… [Salovi] acted as a pentito long enough to capture a close associate of Cofresí, Feronia legacy “B.H.M.”, who swiftly escaped imprisonment. He and the legacy disappeared two days after Salovi's capture.
BHM was a real figure who’d collaborated with Cofresí; too, he was tied to various other acts of piracy in the Caribbean. After leading an attack within a week of Neptune, he was taken in and given a death sentence. He escaped imprisonment and disappeared for eighteen years (x).
Salovi was captured in under a week of the Neptune attack. His fate is unrecorded on Wikipedia and other (primarily English) texts re: Cofresí.
…I mean, I assume they killed him.

Camp Half-Blood, Hartfield, Virginia
George Washington was a son of Athena (first mentioned in The Lightning Thief, later in The Dark Prophecy). Historically, he did not receive formal schooling in his childhood; still, he honed his draftsmanship considerably in Hartfield, Virginia (G. Washington Wiki). NRHD thus situates Hartfield as CHB’s previous American location.
Washington frequented Mount Vernon, whose landscape and use makes a little more sense to house CHB grounds. However, Hartfield is an unincorporated community (an area ungoverned by the local municipality), setting itself up as a relatively self-autonomous camp for demigods—like how CHB seems to be in present day.
